People think that I'm in some way inhuman for suggesting that bringing one of these infected people to this country might be a really bad idea. I'm not being inhumane, I'm being realistic. These two people were professional healthcare workers that knew the seriousness of the disease they were battling. They also knew the fundamentals of aseptic technique and isolation precautions used in dealing with such a disease. They did have all the protective gear available to help protect themselves and others from getting this disease. Yet, they contracted it anyway. Nobody knows how and nobody is blaming them for doing a job very few would do for large amounts of money much less out of their selfless love for humanity. However, since nobody knows how they contract the disease it is unwise to bring them here and risk further exposing others to this dreadful disease.

Humanitarian groups such as the U.S. Peace Corps and others are evacuating all volunteers. In a statement, Samaritan’s Purse said all its nonessential personnel should be evacuated to their home countries by this weekend.
“None of the evacuating staff are ill and the World Health Organization and CDC continue to reiterate that people are not contagious unless they begin showing symptoms,” the organization said in a statement. “Following their evacuation, Samaritan’s Purse will work with staff to monitor their health.”
